#56 Purplicious

Lily was painting the other day with brushes. Before I knew it, all the colors were mixed together and her hands were covered with paint. Wasn't I lucky that it matched her shirt! Notice the paint splatters on her face. She was clapping!

#55 Tree

This tree is in the yard of a home down the street. I wish I knew what kind of tree it was.

#53 Snowman

Yesterday was our second snow day this year. Not great timing on what was supposed to be the first day back after mid-winter break. I motivated to build a snowman. Notice the lego mouth and eyes.

#52 Herding cats

Trying to take a picture of all 3 of my kids together is kind of like herding cats.

#51 Ben's favorite teams

My son is obsessed with NFL football. He spent his allowance to buy these mini helmets and picked out his favorite teams for me to photography. All football season it was the Lions. He got a bit of sense and has now decided for some reason that his favorite team is the Cardinals. No clue why - we have no connection to Arizona.

#49 Finally Outside!

Today we had beautiful weather and I spent some time outside with Lily. I love the look on Lily's face in this picture. I converted to B&W b/c I liked the way it showed the texture in her hat.

#48 My favorite hair do

You gotta love the ponies!

#47 L on the couch

I don't love the composure of this picture (cut off feet and elbow). However, I love everything else about it - L's eyes, the contrast of her blue jeans and white shirt on the dark brown couch, her smile, etc. This room at my friend's house had wonderful natural light.

#46 Funny face

For the first few days of this week I took very few pictures. Thus, I got what I could!

#45 Attitude

I was trying to take Lily's picture and she turned around and crossed her arms, at which point I took this picture.

#44 Gung Hay Fat Choi

Last Saturday night, we attended a Chinese New Year dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. The restaurant brings in a troupe to perform a traditional dragon dance. It was very difficult to take pictures due to the number of people smooshed in a small space. Once again, I had only my point and shoot camera.

#43 - Waffles anyone?

I helped out at B's school Valentine's Day party. We made waffles in the classroom and served them with strawberries, whipped cream, and of course, sprinkles. They were a huge hit and the classroom smelled so good! I would have liked some more background blurring in this, but I was using my point and shoot!

#42 L & Daddy

We met dh for lunch at the mall last Thursday. Lily was so happy to see her daddy.

#41 Snow day

I'm way behind on posting these. While not feeling terribly inspired, I have been takign at least a few pictures a day. However, between sick kids, a snow day, school parties, and winter break I have not had time to post them here. So, now I'm catching up!

Last Wednesday the kids had a snow day from school. We played outside a few times, but I didn't really have my camera for much of the time. Lily seems to love the snow and outlasted the boys and I playing outside.

#39 Hearts

This picture didn't turn out quite how I wanted it to. Of course, it might have worked better if I didn't have to crop it from a 50mm image!

#38 Superbowl kids

#38 Superbowl kids (1 of 1)

Each of the boys got to invite over a friend to watch the 1st half of the Superbowl. One of the boy's friends came with his family. A great time was had by all until Dylan came down with the stomach bug!

Here are the kids with the football cookie I made for dessert.

I wanted to use a picture of her jumping or kicking. They were cute, but my shutter speed wasn't fast enough so they were blurry. I am trying to learn how to use photoshop. I used the cloning tool to get rid of two kids in this picture. Can you tell? I would have edited out the kid in front of her, but there was no way to the the instructor's foot in the picture!

Doesn't he look handsome? Can you see his crazy long eyelashes?

#35 Referral Day

Two years ago today, we saw received "the call" and saw our daughter's beautiful face for the first time. She has been such a blessing to our family. I love you Lily!

Taking a picture of her with her referral picture has become an annual tradition on this day.

#34

I don't know what to name this photo, but I thought it was pretty cute! Today I took some pictures of Lily on her bed. Her window is north facing, so I wasn't sure how they would turn out. However, the lighting ended up being ok. I tried to get one of her jumping on her bed, but the light wasn't good enough for that fast of a shutter speed!

#33 Lost

Loved the season premier of Lost!

Yes, this is a lame picture. Not only is the subject boring, but its not even a good image b/c I have the shine from the recessed lights in our family room! However, it was 11 pm, I had taken some pictures of the kids which came out awful and I needed something. I felt this kind of symbolized my day!
